Nabqa Huna—meaning "We Shall remain"—is an initiative launched by Doctors Against Genocide to support the steadfastness of the people in Gaza. Amid the ongoing genocide, our mission is to rebuild and sustain essential services in education, healthcare, and food security.
With nearly all schools in Gaza damaged or destroyed, children and their families have been displaced multiple times, subjected to immense danger and hardship, and deprived of their fundamental right to learn and thrive. Nabqa Huna aims to restore educational opportunities for children in grades 1–4 as a start, supporting teachers and providing learning materials ,to help them continue their education despite the unimaginable adversity.
Gaza's healthcare system is on the brink of collapse, with every hospital bombed and targeted, more than 50% of hospitals non-operational and a severe shortage of medical supplies . Children and their families face immense danger and hardship, with limited access to essential medical care. Nabqa Huna supports the provision of essential medical supplies and basic services essential to survival.
The blockade and ongoing conflict have led to widespread food insecurity, with 96% of Gaza's population facing acute food shortages . Children and their families have been displaced multiple times and are subjected to forced starvation. No child should be left without food. Nabqa Huna works to deliver food assistance to families, ensuring that children receive the nourishment necessary for survival and well-being.
Your support can help us:
The phrase Nabqa Huna is inspired by the poem and song "Sawfa Nabqa Huna" ("We Will Stay Here"), symbolizing resilience and hope. This anthem has been a source of strength for many, including healthcare workers and educators in Gaza, who continue their vital work amidst the genocide.
Watch the children of Gaza sing Sawf Nabqa Huna.
