Why are we starting a medical alliance?

Healthcare workers have a duty to advocate for humanity, standing against atrocities and genocides, as seen in Gaza, Sudan, and Congo, where silence is complicity. Beyond witnessing suffering, healthcare professionals must confront "medicide"—a systematic and deliberate assault on healthcare systems and medical services to prevent access to care for a targeted population, often in conflict zones or areas of intense persecution. This form of destruction, unlike typical warfare, specifically targets medical facilities, health workers, and essential supplies, severely undermining health outcomes and intentionally exacerbating suffering among vulnerable groups. This systematic violence against medical care compels healthcare workers to call for urgent intervention, humanitarian aid, and the end of such destructive practices.
